About This Treatment

Botox, Xeomin, and Daxxify are all FDA-approved prescription injectables that temporarily relax selected muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles.

These wrinkles are created by repeated facial expressions such as frowning, squinting, or raising the brows. All of the paralytic agents are Botulinum Toxin A with slightly unique differences. Together with each patient we choose the agent most appropriate for patients specific needs.

It is commonly used to soften visible lines and help prevent them from becoming more deeply etched over time.

What It Treats

Botox is commonly used for:

  • Forehead lines
  • Frown lines (between the brows)
  • Crow’s feet
  • Brow heaviness or flattened brows
  • Pebbly chin
  • Lip lines in selected cases
  • Neck banding in selected cases
  • Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)

It is not the best solution for every aging concern. Lines caused by volume loss or skin laxity may require a different approach.

How It Works

Botox works by temporarily reducing the muscle activity that causes repetitive folding of the skin.

As movement softens:

Existing expression lines often appear smoother

Deeper creasing may become less noticeable

Future line formation may slow in commonly treated areas

The goal at Nuvo Med is not a frozen look. The goal is strategic softening with natural movement where appropriate.

Who’s It For

Botox may be appropriate for individuals who:

Notice expression lines when moving the face or at rest

Want a non-surgical option for facial rejuvenation

Prefer subtle, natural-looking maintenance

Value prevention as well as correction

It may not be the best fit for:

Lines caused primarily by volume loss

Significant skin laxity

Patients seeking dramatic structural change

Those who are not good candidates for neuromodulators

A consultation helps determine fit.

The Treatment Experience

Before

Your facial movement, anatomy, and goals are evaluated. A customized plan is created.

During

Small amounts of product are placed using a very fine needle. Most appointments take about 10 to 15 minutes depending on areas treated.

After

Most patients return to normal activity the same day. Specific aftercare guidance will be reviewed.

Results & Expectations

Results often begin appearing within several days, with fuller effects developing over 1 to 2 weeks.

Typical duration is several months, though this varies by individual, treatment area, dose, and metabolism.

Many patients find that consistent maintenance supports smoother long-term results.

Botox improves dynamic wrinkles, but it does not replace treatments for skin quality, volume loss, or laxity when those are the primary concern.

Frequently asked questions

How many units of Botox will I need?

This depends on the treatment area, muscle strength, anatomy, and goals. Personalized dosing matters more than generic unit numbers.

Will I look frozen?

Not when properly planned. Our approach emphasizes natural expression and appropriate dosing.

How long does Botox last?

Many patients see results for several months, though timing varies.

Is there downtime?

Most people return to normal activity the same day.

Does Botox cause numbness?

No. Botox affects muscle signaling, not skin sensation.

Do patients come from Tacoma or Kitsap County?

Yes. Many patients visit Nuvo Med from Tacoma, Bremerton, Silverdale, and surrounding communities for physician-led injectable care.
